What life experiences may have led you to a career in STEM?
I have enjoyed mathematics since kindergarten. I was encouraged by teachers to pursue the sciences.
What are some fun and interesting facts about your life with which students might identify?
I was born and raised in Ventura. My dad worked as a farm worker for 30+ years. My mom was a stay at home mom, and I have 8 siblings. I made school my priority and focused on graduating.
What other other things should students know about you?
I am part of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers Ventura County Chapter; I joined as a student in Ventura College and continued as a professional. I encourage students to join STEM related clubs to create connections.
