What life experiences may have led you to a career in STEM?
Volunteering at UCLA Children’s Hospital, AP Chemistry and becoming friends with grad students studying chemistry. I was pleasantly surprised to find out they were fun people just like me!
What are some fun and interesting facts about your life with which students might identify?
I was born and raised in Southern California. I studied Shakespeare and wanted to be an actress growing up. I never thought in a million years I could even be a scientist.
What other other things should students know about you?
My grandfather always told me, “If you love what you do, you’ll never work a day in your life.”
